Portrait Of Pip And Horace

I thought I’d show you a commission I finished recently. It’s the biggest one I’ve done so far, it’s 50×40 inches! Sadly the lovely folks who commissioned this piece had lost their boy Horace and they wanted a painting of Horace and Pip together to hang in pride of place in their home.

This is a digital painting, printed and mounted onto a sheet of aluminium dibond and covered with acrylic glass. Acrylic glass makes the print very archival as it seals the surface completely behind the glass. The glass gives the painting a real depth and makes the colours sing. It’s hard to show in photos. It has special fittings on the back so it hangs on the wall without a frame and looks like it’s floating there. :-)

Here it is standing on my fireplace so I could get a photo of it. The black corners you see in the photo are the corner protectors. I didn’t want to take those off as it still needed to travel to it’s new home.
